To import a 3D drawing from AutoCAD into Solid Edge and use the exploded view feature, you can follow these general steps:

  1. Export from AutoCAD: Use the EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command in AutoCAD to create a plain AutoCAD DWG file.
  2. Import to Solid Edge: Open Solid Edge and import the DWG file. Solid Edge supports various file extensions for direct import.
  3. Create Exploded View: Once the file is in Solid Edge, you can create an exploded view of your assembly. This is done by selecting the explode view command from the tools menu, selecting the components to explode, and adjusting their position and orientation as desired.
  4. Save and Use: Save the exploded view as a configuration. You can then switch between the normal and exploded views using the configuration manager.
