Hi,

i´ve been working on the attached file and along the process I have changed the drawing optinos (drawing units from mm to m). After this change the file became so slow, that i can´t work on it any more. I have tryed to copy the content to a new file, purge, delete duplicate elements, but nothing helped. I thank you for any help in advance.

Hello kostimea,

AUDIT and [Yes] to fix any errors detected -  you will find 3 errors.

I suggest this be perform on all X-Refs as well.

Also consider reading the following topics on Autodesk Support:

Perhaps the problem is one or all of your 29 references JPEG image files that are not included in your posted file?

Or all the AutoCAD ARCHITECTURE content that did not like the scale transition in plain AutoCAD?

Or it could be all of this junk in your posted DWG file

Or the fact that your everything-and-the-kitchen-sink-in-one-file chosen workflow is the problem too

See attached.

Hi,

thank you for all the suggestions!

I have tried to use your attached file, but at least on my computer it is still too slow to work on it. (waiting time at every zoom or selection)

I have used audit and purge on the file, erased all xref images without a connection.

I have also to separated the file into 3 dwg-s, one for each building. One of them works fine, the other 2 are still too slow.

Sadly, I have to adjust to this sloppy workflow of my office, where everything is in one dwg, but since it´s just 2d content, I thought it shouldn´t be a problem for autocad.

I will attach the 2 small files that still don´t work, if you have any further suggestions for them, I would really appreciate it.

Many many thanks!

Are you having issues with other similar or is this the only project you experienced slow performance?

Could it be a need to update your system requirements?

Is it an old or low-end graphic card?

Can the large number of hatch objects be causing the problem?

Apart from the links above, I strongly recommend you review the possible solutions in this Autodesk Support link:

All of your files contain AutoCADARCHITECTURE content (German Language or Standards at least). Is that the version you use? Or is that what someone is providing to you?
What is your AutoCAD version as listed in ABOUT command? Your files say AUTOCADARCH2021, which is what I am running here.
What is your OS?
Did something change with your computer recently? Or where you store files/how you are connected to them change recently? If you don't know for sure, ask an I.T. person or take your computer to a repair shop to find out.

There is nothing slow about any of your files here, before or after cleanup, but I am on a very average desktop, all files you posted are on my PC, in AutoCADARCH2021.
