2018: Missing ribbon panels

We're using the AutoCAD that gets installed with AutoCAD Mechanical that gets installed with Inventor 2018.  There are a bunch of ribbon panels missing. The Annotation panel is missing altogether, and the ribbon does not change when objects are selected. IOW there are no context ribbon panels. Anybody else seeing this?  Is there a sysvar that turns them all on?  I can't find it.

The ribbon seems to work properly in ACADM, but we don't use or need that.

I'm using the Vanilla profile. Switching to Acadmpp profile had no effect.

Evidently my saved workspace from 2017 did not migrate properly. When I switch to the basic Drafting & Annotation workspace the Annotation tab appears. And disappears when I switch back. Even so, no context ribbons appear at all. Start the Hatch command and you're on your own.  Same with any other command.

In addition to switching profiles, and switching workspaces, I also tried menuunload/menuload, and probably some other fiddling I can't remember. Nothing worked. Then I was reminded of Reset Menus to Default in the Windows start menu, and that did the trick. When I started Autocad, I made sure to UNCHECK ALL migration options. Now all seems to be back to normal. Except of course I have to manually configure all my options, which is fine.

Hi -

I am having the same issue - I am not following how you fixed this. How do you "Reset Menus to Default in the Windows start menu" exactly?

Thanks.
