2014: Dashed lines in block editor appear solid when I exit the block editor

Anonymous

So I've drawn a staircase with a break through it, with the remainder of the staircase being colour grey and dashed. It is a block because it appears in many floor plans, so I edit it in the block, make the lines appear dashed, but when I exit the block editor, the grey portion of the stiars appears as a continuous line.

See the attached file.

LTSCALE & CELTSCALE are 1.00, the units are Millimetres, and the scale is 1:1 both in and out of the block editor. Yes I've tried REGEN and REGENALL. PSLTSCALE = 0, MSLTSCALE = 1.

How do I make the lines appear the same way in and out of the stair block?

Hi cam01096,

just change your LTSCALE to 100 Smiley Happy

Hi,

as seen from attached image your origin block is made small one but the other one you send is scaled to become bigger than the origin one. so you have to update your origin block by changing the scale to match your need.

Good Luck...

i just want to remind (with all respect) that if he change LTS=100 ... this will affect all other linetypes exist in the drawing..

Agreed imadhabash Smiley Wink,

I didn't take that into consideration Smiley Frustrated

I guess @Anonymous you will have to go with @imadHabash's solution.

Thanks for the heads up!

Regards

Hi @Anonymous,

I am wondering if any of the mentioned approached worked for you. If so, please mark one of the previous post as accepted solution, so other readers can benefit from your experience, too.

Thank you

Since you have MSLTSCALE set to 1, remember that this setting means that your linetypes will be scaled in dependece of the scale.

For example set your model scale to 1:50 and REGEN - your dashed lines will appear. (in some versions REGEN is not necessary - 2014 needs it)

MSLTSCALE (Model Space LineType Scale) will be used when your print from model (scale set in plot window) and in viewports (scale inside the viewport) as you print from layout (paperspace). MSLTSCALE allows therefore to print in different scales and to mantain a representation of the linetype indipendently from drawing scale.

Say you print a sheet with two viewports, one in scale 1:50, the other in 1:10, your linetypes will be shown woth the same proportions in both viewports

Important is that you use REGEN or REGENALL to display linetypes correctly (this is version specific and can be avoided if you have annotative objects).

As it's affected by the insertion scale besides everything else mentioned here for the few lines I use with linetypes in our blocks I explode them with linexp.lsp by Dominic Panholzer which is just a slight modification of TXTEXP.LSP from Express Tools. Don't have a link so here it is:
