2014 autocad component has stopped working

Upgraded to windows 10 from 8.1 but had to downgrade back. Now AutoCAD 14 checks my license, I get a verification email, but then a dialog box shows up saying autocad component has stopped working and then it freezes.

There are some option what you can do now:

(make sure you are admin and antivirus is disabled)

Good luck, - alfred -

FWIW AutoAD2014 is not really supported in Win10 http://autode.sk/1IY4C2X
Translation: it could break in the future if you got it to work now, but Autodesk will never commit any time or resources to help you fix it.

So be ready for that.

Hi,

Wow, I would not have thought that all these steps could be done within 17min.

However, create a new Windows user (really a new user to be sure the account does not have any AutoCAD information in it), set it to local admin, login with that account and start AutoCAD.

Good luck, - alfred -

Hi @Anonymous,

I suggest a clean uninstall of AutoCAD and then a reinstall if you have already redone the C++ and .NET framework.

It's all good, the 2014 implosion finally made me just install 2017 which is now working like a charm.
