2 different viewports with the same annotation scale but ...

Hi guys,

I have set up 2 different dimension styles, 1and 2.

I want to show:

  • In VP1 dim style 1
  • in VP2 dim style 2

But my ANNO scale is the same in the two VP's.

So that does not seem to work out!

It is no problem when each VP has a different ANNO SCALE.

I solved it this way:

Remember the ANNO SCALE is the same in the two VP's

I created a second layer 2 on which I displayed the DIM STYLE 2.

  • In VP1, I froze layer 2 with dim style 2 on it.
  • In VP2 I FROZE layer 1 with dim style 1 on it

This way I could eventually solve it but is there an easier way to do it?

Thank you for your time.

..

one dimstyle, set to be annotative, with annotative text style, is all you ever need to dimension in all viewports in all scales in one or more layouts in a single dwg file.

Well, in this case it is explicitely required to have 2 different DIM STYLES.

One without tolerances and one WITH tolerances.

And I have to show them on the same LAYOUT, with 2 VP's next to each other, with each VP having the same ANNO SCALE.

You can create another annotation scale with a different name and the same scale factor.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Hi @Anonymous,

If you place the dimensions on different layers you could simply freeze/thaw in the viewport to show only the ones you want. Does this work for you?

I think that this is what I did to work around it. And that works fine. But the solution of @RobDraw is better and more direct.

Yes, that's it! Now I remember that I did that once before.

I crreated "1:1 bis" as a ANNO SCALE name, with the same scale 1:1.

In VP2 I choose this scale with DIM STYLE 2.

Thank you!
