2 computers using the same license

We are a small automation conveyor company using AutoCAD 2018 with one license for the office desktop computer.

We travel some what frequently and would like to have AutoCAD on the desktop computer when on site.

Only one person operates AutoCAD and travels so they would be the only one using the software.

Can we install on the laptop along with the desktop and go back and forth?

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

You can install the license on both computers. The only limitation as described in the license agreement is that the application cannot be used concurrently. If there is no way to enforce this then perhaps an extra subscription on a monthly basis might be the way to operate.

Another option would be to install it once on the laptop and use a dock in the office. No chance you'd ever violate your EULA.

Hi @Anonymous,

I am checking back to see if my post helped you with your question. Please mark a post or posts as accepted solutions if they resolved the issue or give me a bit more detail on this issue so we can continue to work towards getting this solved.  I personally would not be too worried about picking up an extra license as long as you know that the application is only being used on one computer at a time.

Have not moved forward with it as of yet. Great suggestion and will be trying this fix. Let you know the result.
Thanks
