TXT style for italic text w/o changing all the other

Good morning,

I'm doing a landscape plan and I need one layer to be italic style for the botanical names for the plants. Is this possible? Every time I change the style, all of the text changes.

This is a draft plan with draft layers. I have enclosed a screen shot.

Many thanks, Tricia

PS) yes, my model space is off white 🙂 It's easier on my eyes.

1) create an "italics only" unique text style and use it (or substitute/change existing to it) when/where you need it.
OR
2) edit each table cell's text manually to be "italic" where needed when needed.

And... automate any of the above with uniquely named table/text styles in a block you can drag/drop/explode/reuse moving forward.

Hello,

I didn't use the table function. MAC is tricky with functions. I gave up on that one a long time ago. I just type the text and create a chart. I put the botanical names on one layer. I kept trying to change only one layer but instead the entire document changes.

I hate to ask but how do I create a text style? They only taught one 6 week class in AutoCADD at my school. I've had to self teach ever since.....

Hi, Tricia

 @LandscapeArchitectFIU

>>>>>how do I create a text style?

You create text style with STYLE command (menu Format -> Text Style)

In the Text Style window use this button:

As soon as you pick on it, new Text Style is created, now you can assign Italic Typeface to this new Text style, then select Apply button.

Before you start to create text, you can change current text style in the Properties palette:

Or you can change Text Style for the text already created - select Text object and change its Style in the Properties palette.

Thank you Max, I always appreciate the solutions. I'm sure the other one is a good solution too. I just needed a quick

fix. Are there any good online MAC CADD courses besides Linda.com ? I'd like to feel more proficient at CADD.

Not sure.

But have you seen The Hitchhiker's Guide to AutoCAD for Mac?
