True Type text issues

I use both a MacBook Pro (2024) and an iMac (2024 and 2025)to access my account for AutoCAD LT for Mac 2024 and 2025. True type font I use (graphite-regular.ttf) displays correctly on MacBook Pro. Width factor is .85.

When I load the same drawing file (no changes) the font displays like "stretched out" but the width factor is still showing .85.

This happens on both 2024 and 2025 versions.

Hi @jbgolfer ,

Do you have the same macOS on MacBook Pro and on iMac?

Can you share one of your drawings with this font here?

The iMac (27") is late 2015 and MacBook Pro (13) is late 2014..

The iMac runs Monterey...The most current version this computer can run. This one also has AutoCADLT for Mac 2025 loaded abut has same issues

MacBook Pro runs Big Sur...The most current version this computer can run and only has AutoCAD LT for Mac 2024.

I use the laptop about 85% of the time. This is where the font displays correctly

When I originally installed 2025 version I needed to upgrade the iMac OS from Big Sur to Monterey for it to work.

Prior to that they both used the same OS (Big Sur) but had the same issue.

I've attached a drawing file below...

@jbgolfer ,

To be honest, in the screenshots you provided I don't see any differences related to the font width.

Can you show exactly the same portion of the text for both cases - when it shows correctly (MacBook Pro) and when it looks stretched (iMac)?

And what about PDF output? Do you see the differences in PDF output on iMac and on MacBook Pro?

Now I see the problem.

I think this could be macOS Monterey problem with OTF font in AutoCAD.

Both Macs have a True Type variant, not an OTF.

If I'm correct, an OTF does not work 2024, not sure about 2025. In my Font book on both machines it's a TTF.

@jbgolfer What is the exact name of this font?

OTF does not work in any year version of AutoCAD, but you've not ruled out substitutions taking place in in your files from what I can tell (the noted shift and resizing is usually an indication of that)

OR... is this an XREF inside two different DWG files?

The font is graphite-regular.ttf.

I used the OTR version I purchased and converted to get to a TTF.

This drawing file is the same file.The only difference is one is opened on the iMac (the stretched version) and the other is Mac Book Pro.

Same font on is in the Font Book of both machines.

@pendean

OTF fonts in "OpenType TrueType" format and even "OpenType PostScript" format work fine in AutoCAD 2025 for Mac and earlier versions.

@jbgolfer

>>>>>>I used the OTR version I purchased and converted to get to a TTF.

Maybe the conversion is the case of the problem?

Have you checked that you have only one copy of the graphite-regular.ttf font that is available to AutoCAD?

I mean that if you have installed graphite-regular.ttf with Font Book, is there another copy of this font (TTF or OTF) inside "/Applications/Autodesk/AutoCAD 2025/AutoCAD 2025.app/Contents/Resources/Fonts/ttf/" folder?
