The drawing file requires recovery NOT WORKING

For the first time I have received an error that does not allow me to open my drawings. The error reads:

The drawing file requires recovery.

Errors were detected in the drawing. The file cannot be opened without being recovered.

When I click on "recover" a blank file window opens and that's it.

can someone please assist asap as I am extremely worried about my project files. I am using Austodcad Lt for Mac 2021

1. Don't save

2. Look for a file with the same name, but *.bak extension. Copy this file, rename the extension to dwg and try it with this older version of your file.

If you like more help, share dwg (and bak) with us.

When I searched for the backup file before and changed it to a dwg file (the extension) I noticed that the bak up file is old. When I went into autosave folder, the last saved items are a week old so not up to date.

If the bak option was turned on at the last save you should have the state you opend as bak.

If the file you opened was in folderX was from 01.Sept and you save this file (in the same folderX), your have a bak from 01.Sept.

Perhaps you saveas the last time to another folder or used a shared/cloud folder, or bak option was disabled, i don't know.

Try to open your DWG with other programs or upload the DWG, so we can check the content.

I believe I had it disabled...

Is it possible for me to email you my file instead of putting it on here?

Friend, if you cannot open your DWG file then most of us cannot either.

But you could try the tips offered here https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCA...
