Specify Alternate Location for .LOG and .ERR Files?

Currently AutoCAD LT 2017.1 saves two files to my user Documents folder, acadlt.err and hardcopy.log.  I've tried turning off LOG files completely, and have looked for a setting where I can specify a new location for these files.  I;ve deleted them repeatedly, but they always come back.

Is there any way to either turn off the generation of these files or specify an alternate location for them?

I just found this older post of yours and was curious if you had resolved the problem.  If not, my first thought is to make sure that "Include plot stamp" is turned off. Log file location is also possibly controlled by the Log File Location setting in OPTIONS.

The err file is typically created only when errors occur.  Do you typically work in your documents folder?
