Software for rendering of DWG models after AutoCAD

I am looking for good software for rendering of DWG models after AutoCAD.

The reason for asking this is a lack of rendering capabilities in current versions of AutoCAD for Mac: no more render command at all, no cameras, background settings, very limited materials.

Having done a 3D model in DWG format, with assigned materials, which software to use next?

Requirements are following:

- must run on MacOS;

- optionally to support materials imported with DWG from AutoCAD;

- free or open source, or at least having a long trial period;

- easy to use, because i am not a professional in CG visualization.

Glad to hear any advices!

Purpose are hobby projects for fun.

Currently i have discovered several options:

- Autodesk A360 cloud rendering, already tried it. Works good, but AutoCAD for MacOS can't set cameras except primary view.

- Blender (must be tricky, i guess).

- SimLab Composer Lite. Looks simple, going to try it soon.

In my experience, I'd say Blender with all your requirements. I was going to say 3DS Max, but its a PC only app.

Hi Kirill,

If it is the only one problem with Autodesk Cloud Rendering, then it is not a problem.
You need to create Named Views (one Named View for one "camera") with VIEW command:
http://help.autodesk.com/view/ACDMAC/2019/ENU/?guid=GUID-6FF3A4E5-9F51-4AE0-ADD1-0B2E0C730DD4
or NEWVIEW command (AC 2019):
http://help.autodesk.com/view/ACDMAC/2019/ENU/?guid=GUID-E6BCEBAC-8680-4431-8BDD-279228010469

Then, after uploading drawing for rendering, you can select to render all views (you can check them in dropdown list).

Thank you, this is very helpful!

Also is it possible to set background? I can't find it in AutoCAD 2018 (Mac). Maybe new versions already support that.

No, this option still not available in AutoCAD for Mac, even in latest 2019 version.
