single line text edit not working pre or post

Hi there,

In single line text mode, I am unable to control any options pre or post inputting the text.  Does this happen for anyone else?

Description of problem:

When you type in single text mode (command line; text) no edit options (height etc) are available?

Also, if I go to edit my text after i've typed it, eg command line; DDEDIT, or TEXTEDIT,  still no editing options appear.

As far as I can tell the only way to control your text options is to input text in multi text mode.  Is this normal?

Thanks 🙂

Hi,

If you are using single line text (DTEXT command), during creation you can control:

- Style, Justification, height and rotation angle of text at the Command window:

Command: DTEXT
TEXT
Current text style: "Standard" Text height: 2.5000 Annotative: No Justify: Left
Specify start point of text or [Justify/Style]: <-Enter option J or S to set Justification or select Style
Specify height <2.5000>: <- Set height
Specify rotation angle of text <0>: <- Set rotation angle
Command:

after you create single line text, you can select it in the drawing area and control its properties in Properties Inspector:

Thank you , you are right about both, and both works a treat.  Thanks !!

I have found before when drawing using AutoCAD on a PC that you can not edit most of the time from properties (they are greyed out).  I think I had assumed it was the same with AutoCAD for Mac.  That's aweome that you can edit from properties, hopefuly this is the case all yhe time 🙂
