Shortcut To Reset Model Space to a Single Viewport

is there a shortcut to maximize a viewport in model space and then switch back to single viewport. in other words, is there a shortcut to maximize and restore the viewport in model space on mac. thank you.

Hi @mitchelllance ,

If I understand you correctly, you are working on Model tab and have two or more tiled viewports on it.

In this case you can switch to a single viewport by double clicking on "+" in the upper-left corner of the viewport:

If you need to maximize viewport on Layout tab, then you can double-click on its border, to minimize it - double-click on the wide light blue border around maximised viewport:

you are correct about my issue when working in model space. but i’m wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut that is faster than clicking on the “+”? if no shortcut exists, can i create one with the aliases in preferences and what is the command to create the alias. thanks.

Yes, it doesn't exist and you can create one.

At first create new Command macro:

Now you can assign this new macro to a shortcut of your choice:

[mitchelllance]

i'm having trouble with the macro. i'm using autocad 2020 so no option for shortcuts in CUI, only aliases.

my first issue is that the macro is not working. i copied your instructions, and i put this new command in the menu bar to test, but it is not working?

my second issue is how to add the command to aliases. once i click the "+" to add, it does not appear in the command search. thanks for your help.

Looks like you missed a space between _-vports and_T. The macro should looks like:

^C^C_-vports _T 

don't forget to add space after _T too.

Yes, you cannot use alias for custom macro.

It is not possible to create shortcuts in 2020 version officially. But you can add custom command to the menu and then use macOS System Preferences to create shortcut for it.
