Shift+D Command in AutoCad 2021?

In AutoCad Mac 2018 and 2019 I was able to hold down Shift+D to turn off polar tracking/ortho mode/object snap/etc. while moving or pasting an object, and it would let me place it anywhere without snapping it to a line or object. When I would release the keys it would immediately restore any snapping/tracking settings.

This seems to be gone now in 2021 - does anyone know if it's a new command or how I can get it back? It was incredibly helpful!

Hi Isadora,

Shift+D works on my side to temporary disable all snapping and tracking.
Have you tried to relaunch AutoCAD? Restart your Mac?
What macOS do you have on your Mac?

Hi Maxim -

That’s great to know it still works on yours! I’m running Catalina, and this has been an issue since I started with AutoCad 2021, which I’ve been using for a few months now.

@ilporte

Have you installed 2021.1 Update for AutoCAD for Mac?

If you migrated settings from 2018 version during 2021 installation, you can try to Reset AutoCAD and don't migrate settings from 2018 version if you still have it on your Mac.

Thank you! Resetting AutoCAD did the trick.
