run RECOVER

I'm new to using ACAD.  When change fonts in a table and tring to save I get

AutoCAD Message  Warning:  An error occured during save.  We recommend that you run RECOVER on the drawing.

How do I run RECOVER?  is this a utility somewhere or what?  Help say's nothing about it.

Thanks

DavidG

Hi David,

RECOVER is listed in the Help. Please check the "Command Reference".

You would type RECOVER at the command-line.

But what you describe sounds like an issue we want to investigate further.
If you are able to reproduce this error doing the same operation on
your DWG (editing fonts in the Table and saving), would it be possible
to share your DWG so that our dev team can research further?  You can
either post here or email me directly (mike.fottrell@autodesk.com)

Regards,
Mike

Mike,

Thanks for the response.  I have emailed you a file and instruction on how to reproduce the problem.

Is should have clarified on the the help.  When I key in RECOVER  in the seach field under HELP it returns nothing.

After opening a AutoCAD HELP under HELP the web page come up and that search does return what I was looking for.  It fixes 6 text errors which is the amount of text strings I was applying the style to.

Regards,

UPDATE

This problem has been identified by autodesk and logged as a bug.

2011 Mac was allowing me to assign text styles from a xref which apparently is a big no-no and was corrupting the file.

Running recover from command line does repairs the file.  Seem like recover should be an option in the file pulldown menu.  It doesn't make sense to me to have to open one file in order to recover another.
