Refresh after editing DXF file

Hi!

I'm trying to find the best way to refresh an AutoCAD drawing from an open DXF file, after directly editing the DXF file in a text editor. I tried REDRAW and REGEN to no avail.

As a specific example, I would like to create an AutoCAD drawing, add a circle, save the file as a DXF, then open the DXF file in a text editor, change the radius of the circle, save the DXF file, and update the circle automatically in AutoCAD. Is this possible?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Rami,

The only one way to "refresh" is to reopen DXF (close without saving and open again) after you edit it.
AutoCAD works directly with drawing files (DWG or DXF) on disk only during opening and saving them. When drawing loaded in AutoCAD all changes occur in RAM until you execute save or open command or reload Xref if any.
