i am printing to .pdf a file w/ a raster image reference but for some reason it is showing up as a solid black filled box.

it happened recently, it in the title block w/ is referenced into the file.

i am including a before and after - im not sure what happened in between the two that caused the raster image to suddenly look like a black box.

please help!

this is for autoCAD 2016 mac

(is there anything in this print dialogue?)

// it is affecting all .jpgs that i try to attach to a file as a raster image reference. they all get turned into black solid boxes.

// i have tried multiple images - they all do the same thing. i have tried multiple files - same problem on all files. i have tried multiple computers - same issue on all computers.

// i tried creating a different size layout (11x17) and i was able to print the .jpg's properly! however - i tried creating a new 24x36" layout, but then it suddenly wouldnt print the .jpgs properly (back to the black boxes). so there is something in the print dialogue... hmmm ... i dont know whats different when i made the two layouts why one worked and the other didnt.

hmmm - i feel like im on to something w/ making a new layout. but it seemed to work for some and not for others - not sure why...

thanks!

Hi Patrick,

It appears you upgraded to macOS Sierra.
If so, than the issue you have is the result of incompatibility of AutoCAD for Mac and new macOS :

PDFs are affected too. AutoCAD pretty much looks at them as images. Apple changed the print system in Sierra enough to cause some problems for AutoCAD. We will be released updates. No ETA yet though.

Here is an article with some suggestions:

Images in referenced files do not plot in AutoCAD for Mac on Mac OS 10.12 (Sierra)
