Raster image path

Anonymous
Not applicable

Good day!

After inserting image into a drawing (image in stamp) I place my drawing with image at my server in the internet (some hosting).

Unfortunately the drawing lost the image and it shows only path. What can a decision be?

Thank you

Did you download the drawing and image from the Internet location to a local machine and try to open it from there?

Or are you opening the drawing from the Internet location?

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Maxim,

Which AutoCAD version do you have?
I think you need at first to try to put DWG and raster image to the same folder on the server, this should resolve the issue.
You can also edit / save path to the image file in the External references palette.

I am opening the drawing from the internet location. I put the raster into main folder.

Hi!

I have got AutoCAD for Mac 2015

I think you need at first to try to put DWG and raster image to the same folder on the server, this should resolve the issue.
 - it does not work.

You can also edit / save path to the image file in the External references palette. - How can I edit the drawing in DWG TrueView 2017? I do all operations in Parallels.

AutoCAD for Mac 2015 or TrueView 2017?
So after all, can you explain what exactly you are using?

I think you can change path to the external referenced file only in AutoCAD, but not in DWG viewer.

If you want to view correctly DWG file in Trueview, you need to prepare it in AutoCAD.

Start on your local drive

- put rate image and DWG file to the same folder

- attach raster image to the drawing with "no path" option (you can find this option in the "Attach external file" dialog)

- save DWG

- copy DWG and raster image to the same folder on the external storage

- try to open in DWG viewer application - Trueview in your case.

Sounds like @Anonymous is creating the drawing using AutoCAD, then placing it and the image on a server somewhere and then using Trueview to open and view it.

Yes, I thought so.

Hi!

I am using AutoCAD for Mac for drawing but my colleagues have Windows computers and use DWG Viewer.

So, as I wrote before - try to use "no path" option when you attach image on your Mac.

The preview thumbnail is simply a screencap when the file was last saved.

It's not a live preview of the file and it's references.
