PROXYSHOW variable reverts to <2>

Hi,

A Civil survey I am currently working is using AEC objects for elevation points. When I set the PROXYSHOW variable to <1>, the information displays properly. Yet whenever the file is re-opened, the PROXYSHOW value reverts to <2> and proxy graphics display as rectangles with tags inside.

This isn't a huge deal. The variable can just be set to <1> again, but does somebody know how to make the value stick where I want it? For instance, is there a command similar to VISRETAIN, but for system variables?

Thank you,

Michael

Hi Michael,

You need to do the following:

- Use AutoCAD preferences to "Reset hidden messages" on Application Tab of the Preferences window:2017-10-20_23-09-14.png2017-10-20_23-09-14.png

- Next time you will open the drawing with PROXY objects, you will get this dialog:2017-10-20_23-09-58.png2017-10-20_23-09-58.png

- Now you have two options:

1. If you will not check "Remember my choice" option in the Proxy alert window, you will be able to select how to show Proxy objects in the drawing each time you open it.

2. If you want proxy objects always show as objects, you can check "Remember my choice" option and select the first option: "Show objects when available". From now "Unsupported objects" window will not appear each time you open drawing and if the drawing contains proxy date it will always will show as objects. System variable PROXYSHOW will be always reset to 1

If you want to return "Unsupported objects" window back, you always can "Reset hidden messages" again.

Maxim
