Plotting to PDF - Print->Plot vs Print->Preview

I noticed a file size difference when adding an attachment to an email and found an inconsistency that I'm hoping is not anything of concern.  I created a 1 page ANSI D sized .pdf from the 2 options in the subject and produced different file sizes -  278 and 280 KB.  The only other difference checking the "Get Info" is the encoding software differing from "pdfplot16.bundle 16.02.114.00024" to "macOS Version 12.6.3 (Build 21G419) Quartz PDFContext, AppendMode 1.1" with the Preview option.

I am wondering what other differences may be occurring that could compound when plotting larger drawing sets.  Any info or explanation about how the .pdf creation occurs and why it differs is much appreciated.

Hi @danbruzga ,

I don't have 2021 version at hand, but I checked your scenario in 2023 AutoCAD version.

In both cases (Preview and Plot) I get PDF created with "pdfplot16.bundle".

The Layout I print has "AutoCAD PDF (General Documentation).pc3" printer assigned in Page Setup.

What settings do you use in Plot window before you select "Preview" or "Plot"? Are they the same?

Can you attach screenshot?

I know that AutoCAD uses "Quartz PDFContext" PDF creator when you click on Preview button only if you have other then one of AutoCAD predefined PDF printers - "DWG to PDF.pc3", "AutoCAD PDF (General documentation).pc3, etc.
