Plot Preview AREA In Plot Dialogue Box Blank

Hi, please help. The plot PREVIEW AREA in the plot dialogue box is blank. When I hit the PREVIEW button, I can see whatever it is I've selected to plot with window, extents, etc. So previewing my selection and printing aren't the issue. The issue is that I don't know what I'm printing (until I preview) because that PREVIEW AREA/Black Box to the right of the plot dialogue box has now become blank and won't return back to showing me what my plot window has selected.

I've tried everything that I can research. I even got a message twice that I can't recreate saying something along the lines of 'preview not available, hit the preview button to see your plot'.

I'm not super experienced with AutoCAD but I can get around in the program. I haven't had any issues with plotting what I need to until recently. I noticed AutoCad did an update that had some effect on plotting, I'm not sure if this is related or if it was some random command that I did. I've attached screenshots showing what I'm talking about.

Hi @saime2CEKP,

If this issue was caused by macOS update, then for now you can:
- roll back to previous 10.14.3 version (if you have Time Machine backup)
- wait for next macOS update, or try to install 10.14.5 beta
- wait for AutoCAD update.

Thank you for these suggestions. However, the rolling back to an older version and using a beta version of mac os makes me nervous and is a little out of my general knowledge. I've looked into both options and just don't feel comfortable doing them. I'm glad to see it's not just me having this issue.

Do you think this is a mac issue or AutoCad issue, or I guess compatibility between the two?

I got this answer from an expert -

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-for-mac/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticle...

In summary, the only work around is to preview your drawing. Which seems defective and needs to be corrected, in my opinion.

Thank you so much for your helpful respond!

I agree with you. Hopefully AutoDesk will fix this situation soon.

This problem should be fixed in the AutoCAD for Mac 2019.0.1 update, which should be out soon.

We need the Plot Preview back in the Plotting Screen. It saved a lot of time and money. It provided us with quick feedback on which direction was most effective at displaying the final print and yes the Preview window works to show this but if the orientation is incorrect it is necessary to to redo the whole process also the button to centre the plot in the plot offset window was great. The thought of losing a new feature is just not acceptable.

Hi @ireneAZESA @Anonymous @saime2CEKP

AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT for Mac 2019.0.1 Hotfix available now for downloading - just launch AutoCAD 2019 and will see an alert from AutoCAD with Hotfix download link (you can also use "Check for updates" form menu AutoCAD.

According to Readme information the issue with previews is fixed with this Hotfix.

I have been waiting for the Update and have not received a notice or when I check my system says it is uptodate.

So I went online and found the HotFix and downloaded it and it works. But my AutoCAD did not say it had any updates available.

Thanks

Had the same happening on Mac, downloaded the update from the website as the update from the app itself wouldn't work and now all smoother than ever.

Thanks !
