PC for AutoCAD, 16 or 32 GB Mackbook Pro?

Hello,

I just purchased a 2024 Macbook Pro with 16 GB.  AutoCAD was running a little glitchy after a few hours of work, but that could be because my file was stored in OneDrive and was subject to synchronization issues. 

Should I upgrade to a 32GB Mac or should 16GB be sufficient for drafting?

Should I purchase a PC instead?

Adding RAM is not the solution for your connection deterioration-over-time to the OneDrive service.

How often do you manually save your open files, and do you have file-versioning turned on in OneDrive?

I manually save to One Drive quite often and decided to download my DWGs onto my Macbook desktop to work instead of keeping them in OneDrive. Regardless, is PC better for AutoCAD than Mac?

What is your exact MacOS?
And is your exact AutoCAD for Mac year version as listed from the program's ABOUT command?

And as a test for a day, if you log out of OneDrive, and manually save your open DWG file often like 30-minutes or less, does the issue go away?

In addition to the differences in user inteface there are a number of features that are on AutoCAD for Windows but are not on AutoCAD for Mac.  Though the following is not an exhaustive list, you should consider the limitations before jumping onto one vs another:

The Mac I’m on is Sonoma 14.4 and I’m using 2024 AutoCAD for Mac. Will try to see if the issue goes away when logged out of one drive, but I think I might just return the MacBook. I purchased it about two weeks ago and I’m losing confidence in whether this will serve me long term.

Ever tried running Parallels then you can run Windows version of AutoCAD?

16gb can work but 32gb is ideal
