Paste problem

I want to load an element ( viewport or file ) on a project. So I copy the file with command+c and then paste the file on the project, but it doesn't work! It only shows the address of the file! What am I doing wrong here?

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

 I suggest exiting AutoCAD and then emptying the Windows Temp folder (type %temp% on the Windows run line to open the location in Windows Explorer)to clear the contents. This should clear the clipboard and hopefully  fix your copy/paste problem.

Please also try running an AUDIT and PURGE on your drawing file.

I have autocad 2018 installed on mac os high sierra varsion 10.13.4

I'm sorry (and embarassed).  I looked at your image and was so focused on what you were highlighting that I did not pay attention to the Mac environment!

Here is a link for some suggestions for clearing out your clipboard on the Mac.  Please let me know if any of these steps resolves the problem for you.

It appears you are trying to paste the 'name' of an AutoCAD drawing from a folder. Sorry, but you can't do that. You can xref that drawing into your current drawing or you open the drawing to be copied and copy to your clipboard (use a crossing window). Then in the target drawing, your current drawing, you paste the entities from you clipboard into the target's modelspace.

Can you describe how you are performing your copy and paste? Are you using Command-C and Command-V? Have you tried selecting the geometry, rt-click and go to Clipboard to select one of the copy options?

Does that behave any differently?

Ahhhh. I see your problem. Do this: While in Drawing 1, select the diagonal lines=>right-click=>Clipboard=>Copy with basepoint=>Click your desired basepoint (such as the bottom end point of the left line). Then go to Drawing 2, Right-click in an 'empty area" =>Paste. The copy command you are using only works when you are copying and pasting in the same drawing, such as doing both copy and paste in Drawing 1. If you want to paste in drawing 2, you need 'Copy with Basepoint.'

Unfortunately non of these things works...
Yesterday I unchecked the option " create new layouts in viewports" and it fixed my problem but today it's not working again!
I'm desperate!

If Copy/Paste is working properly in other applications then perhaps performing a Reset is in order to return AutoCAD to original settings.

Are your diagonal lines on the "0" layer? From your jpeg, it looks like that layer is locked. Unlock it and try again.

Sorry, but there is no such option in AutoCAD.
What do you mean?

And, just for clarification - do you attempt to copy DWG file in Finder and then use Paste in AutoCAD?

Copy paste action works in other apps except autocad. And i reset options.  Still not working
