Orient Annotative Block to UCS in AutoCAD for Mac

I've created an annotative block in the WCS.  When I insert it into a drawing using a different UCS, it orients itself to the WCS in which it was created.  Is there a way to create a block that will always remain orthagonal to my view regardless of the orientation of the UCS?

I "reset" your block by unchecking Annotative in Block editor than saving it as non-annotative.

Than I opened it again in Block editor and checked Annotative.

Now it seems to behave correctly.

I did as you suggested, but the block still comes in at the WCS.  Is there a setting in the drawing that could be prohibiting the block from orienting itself correctly?

Have you tested the.block I attached to my post? Does it works correctly on your side? Actually it is your block, but edited as I described. Maybe I missed some step in the description of my repair actions, I have to check once again.

I tested the block you created and it simply maintains the orientation in which it was placed into model space.  If I change the UCS of either model space or the viewport, the block orients with it.

No I understand what you want.
You need to edit block in Block Editor: while you are in Block Editor, look at the Properties palette, find "match block orientation to layout" option and activate it. Save block and test it.

I've done as you recommended.  The block inserts according to the WCS (incorrectly), but it does display correctly in my layout.

Not really.  I don't want the block to insert into model space oriented to the WCS.  I want it to insert and remain right side up (for lack of a better description) regardless of the angle of the UCS.

So you need the same behavior of the block in Model space as you have inside viewport in Layout. Am I correct?

The rule of AutoCAD:
If annotative block have "Match layout orientation" option checked, than the block will be inserted without rotation - it always will stay as it was created, and this is true for both Model Layout and Paper space layout.
If the block have "Match layout orientation" option is nit checked, than the block will be rotated regarding current UCS, and this is true for both Model Layout and Paper space layout.
You cannot mix this behavior in one block.

Perhaps you need to approach this with two blocks: one for the part you don't want rotated and the other block that you do want rotated.

If this works, you could even try nesting one block into the other.

I am checking back to see if you had resolved your issue. Did you try utilizing the two block method?

I created a North Arrow using two blocks. the circle part is set as annotative with Match Orientation. The line part is annotative and set as NOT Match Orientation. I believe this is the desired look you want.
