Older drawings, Cant view anything unless highlighted

I am trying to work on some older drawings in ACAD LT, but in both model mode and layout mode, I cannot see any of the drawings outside of some random lines here and there.

I have tried to torubleshoot it.  I'm sure it's a simple settings thing, but I cannot figure it out.

Please advise.  Thank you!

Post one of these problem drawings so we can have a look at it ourselves.

We cannot advise with just a description.

@fredTJRMQ This is not the MAC forum sadly, so that's possibly fixable: you are missing a required update to your LT2023 version but you cannot get it if it is "unregistered".

What is your MacOS version? And which MAC device is this?

I'll move you over to that forum, perhaps someone with your setup can shed more light on the matter.

I'm running Catalina 10.15.3

The device is a Macbook Pro

My version of AutoCAD LT is freshly downloaded.  I'm actually running a 30-day trial of it to see how I like it.  Not sure why it wouldn't be the latest version.

@fredTJRMQ Autodesk only makes the initial release available to trial: updates and fixes require a paid subscription to get and install. "latest" means nothing here sadly.

Hi @fredTJRMQ ,

What settings do you have for Graphics engine in Application settings?

If it is "Metal", then try to change it to "Open GL Core Profile", restart AutoCAD and try to open your drawing.

That worked!!!  Thank you!

I took the advice of the person above you in the forum chat and ended up buying AutoCAD LT.  Actually spent a couple hours getting it to run because I had to delete the Trial version which involved deleting a bunch of source code in terminal.  Finally got it running and the issue was still there.  Came on here to post that the issue wasn't resolved.

Did what you suggested and voilà!

Thank you!
