Is Autodesk developing their software on m1 chip or not ??

AutoCAD for Mac (patched 2021 or later) seems to work fine here on the M1 (Air).  For additional feedback post (or admin move) to the AutoCAD Mac forums.

Autodesk never reveals its plans, so the timing of the release of AutoCAD for Mac with native support for the M1 chip is unknown....

 

And as @TerryDotson mentioned in his post AutoCAD for Mac 2020, 2021 and 2022 are supported on Macs with M1 chip (under Rosetta 2 mode.):
