Linetype scale problem

Hello.

At work I am having a problem with linetype scales on a file, between different Mac's.

When I open the file on my Mac 1, the linetypes display correctly, but when I open the same file on Mac 2, the linetype scales become larger.

( A dashed line displayed 20 segments on my Mac 1, and 2 segments on Mac 2, over the same distance.)

I "fixed it" by doing the following:

- On Mac 2 I opened my basic drawing template (tmp) and copied everything in from the problem drawing into it. Suddenly the linetype scales look the same as on my Mac 1.

- I saved as a new file.

- I opened the problem file (which looks fine on my Mac 1) and the new file on my Mac 1 and the linetype scale on both files looks identical. So I thought that fixed it.

- I open the new file on Mac 3 and the linetype scale looks wrong again. Just like it looked on Mac 2 before I tried my "fix".

- Same on Mac's 4 and 5.

I can't seem to find whats the problem here.

Hi Stijn,

If you are about standard linetypes:

Linetype definitions in AutoCAD are stored in two separate .LIN files (acad.lin and acadiso.lin). Both files have the same set of linetypes, but with different scale - one for Imperial based drawings and the other - for Metric drawings.

When you load linetype definition to the drawing, AutoCAD looks for MEASUREMENT system variable which are saved in the drawing and loads linetype from the correct .LIN file:

If MEASUREMENT=0, AutoCAD loads linetypes from acad.lin file. If MEASUREMENT=1, it loads linetypes from acadiso.lin file.

Hey Maxim,

I tried to change the variable and did REGEN afterwards, but the problem persists.

There is no noticeable visual change between setting it to 1 or setting it to 0. The scale of the lines stays the same. This happens on my Mac and the other Mac's.

Changing MEASUREMENT will not resolve the problem, linetype definitions should be reloaded from the correct LIN file.
