Layers States Manager on AutoCAD LT 2017 on MAC OS SIERRA Version 10.12.4

Hi guys,

I'm a beginner

I just installed AutoCAD LT 2017 for Mac on my MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012)

Trying to set my first drawing layers, I kept getting the last color I set for a specific layer on all the other layers.

Same problem setting a line wight.

Then browsing AUTODESK KNOWLEDGE NETWORK I found out that

"AutoCAD for Mac and AutoCAD LT for Mac are not currently compatible with Mac OS 10.12 (Sierra)"

I downloaded 2017.0.1 Hotfix.

But still cannot assign colors nor line weights to layers.

Anyone could please help ? 🤔 🙃✏️

Hi Bejolino,

You need to set every property to "ByLayer" in order to be able to use Layer's settings for newly created objects.
Ensure that nothing is selected in the drawing area, than set each property (Color, Lineweight, etc) in the Properties palette to "ByLayer".

Hi Maxim,

thank you for you prompt reply !

In this tutorial they show the panel on the right as Properties Inspector 🕵🏻‍♀️ containing layers controls where we can change properties of layers.

Then a Layer Palette has been shown as expanded in order to contain more layers's properties.

Is it here ? In this window that I have to assign properties to a layer ? 

Or in the lower part of the right panel ? 😄

At the end - following your clues and what I learned on the tutorial - I did manage to keep color and line type separated but 😊 Should I tell you how I did it, I absolutely couldn't tell nor do it again 

Maybe I just need a bit of practice
