Is it mandatory to install AutoCAD 2021.2 update?

Hi everyone!

Today I was prompted to install the AutoCAD 2021.2 update on my Mac but I am wondering if it is mandatory to install the update?  Is it ok if I just ignore it?  Last time after I installed an update at home, my AutoCAD stopped working for a few months! Luckily we were back in the office to work around that time but now I am working from home again, and I cannot afford to lose AutoCAD.  My macOS is version 10.13.6 and I am not sure if the AutoCAD 2021.2 update works with this version of macOS.

Anyone has any thought please?

Many many thanks.

Open the update's readme file: if you are not having any of those issues then you can make an informed decision yourself on whatever you want to do.

I installed the 2021.2 update just now on an early 2011 13" MBP w/i7, 16GB, 512GB SSD (yes, a more than 10 year old Mac, albeit upgraded by me a while back). Also, macOS version 10.13.6.

So far everything working fine. Data links to an external Excel spreadsheet are good, but I'm not doing anything heavy like bringing in large xrefs or 3D at the moment.

Hi @pangcLXMT7

>>>and I cannot afford to lose AutoCAD.

Don't forget that you can create Time Machine backup before installing the update.

In this case, you can always return to the state before the update was installed.

Thanks @RMHartmann, that's good to know.  My machine is mid 2010! (yeah... love my mac!) and running with macOS 10.13.6.  I suppose I can give it a try then.  I don't do heavy 3D rendering either.

Thank you @maxim_k , thanks for the tips.
