Golden Ratio

Hi,

I'm taking a CAD class and one of my assignments is to draw the golden Ratio.  I understand what it is, but I am confused on how to make a perfect arc.  Would someone be able to explain this in-depth, step-by-step?  Here is the assignment.

Hi Fiona,

There are a lot of ways to accomplish this task. Here one of them.

1. Start new drawing using acad.dwt template

2. Use UNITS command (menu Format -> Units) to setup Architectural Units:

3. Use menu Tools -> Drafting Settings to setup Snap and Grid on "Snap and Grid" tab of "Drafting Settings" window as follows (Snap and Grid should be turned on):

4. Start PLINE command and pick first point, then use right click context menu to select "Arc" and "Direction"options before picking next point, then pick points from 2 to 6 as showing on this screencast using snap and grid as visual aids:

5. Done!
