Font not displaying correctly anymore on AutoCAD LT 2025 on MacOS Sequoia (OS 15.4.1)

I have been using 'Arial' font as my main font on AutoCAD LT on Mac, but after moving onto a new Mac (M4) with MacOS Sequoia (ver 15.4.1) with LT 2025, the font no longer displays correctly for all files, both new and existing. (First image below). It was working fine with my previous set up (AutoCAD LT 2023 on Mac OS Catalina: second image) I can find Arial font (ttf) from Font Book app. Does anyone know how to make this work? Is this a file search path issue?

Hi @akiraXEZYU ,

Have you installed this Update for AutoCAD LT for Mac 2025?

Hi @akiraXEZYU ,

So you can only see Arial font as Italic. Am I right?

And what about other fonts?

Do you have this problem in all of your drawings?

If it is only one drawing - can you share it here?

Thank you for your reply.

Yes Arial font appears to be in Italic. Other fonts seem to work as below. It happens to all drawings new and old. I share a file as below. This seems like my system set-up issue.  Arial font might be corrupted? How can I reinstall Arial only?

@akiraXEZYU ,

Please open Font Book app and search for Arial font (All fonts).

What do you see?

Arial works on other software like Pages, TextEdit and Photoshop. It seems this is an issue only on AutoCAD.

Hi @akiraXEZYU ,

From your screenshot I see that you have Arial font at least in 3 places on your Mac. Two of them are deactivated (grayed out) in Font Book by macOS.

But this does not mean that these two deactivated fonts are not available for AutoCAD.

The active instance of arial font most likely located in the system folder - "/System/Library/Fonts/Supplemental" and the others - deactivated - are somewhere on your Mac.

You need to check this.

Then you need to look where these deactivated fonts are located and remove them from your system to ensure that they are not available for AutoCAD.

Hi. Thank you for your comment.

The active instance of Arial was located at "/Users/UserName/Library/Fonts/" folder. I made a subfolder in the folder and hid Arial file in there and Arial displays correctly in AutoCAD. I don't know why this works, but I suppose this file was doing something wrong.... I probably shouldn't have used Migration Assistant when moving to M4 Mac and started from scratch installing all applications. This might have caused cluttered system files... though I'm just guessing. Thank you very much for your help!

Hi @akiraXEZYU ,

Looks like the Arial font inside Fonts folder in your Home folder had some defects.

As soon as you removed it the Arial font in System Fonts folder became active and that is why it displays in AutoCAD correctly now.
