.fbx and .obj

Hello people,

There is any way out there to open a .fxb or a .obj on Autocad 2016 trial version for Mac?

Thanks a lot.

Felipe

I don't have a fxb file to try.

If you want you can share the file and I can try to set up a VM and the trial version of AutoCAD for the MAC.

Have you tried FBX viewer?

It's a stand-alone tool that lets users view 3D models and animations across many platforms without using a 3D authoring tool.

The tool can be found here

Thanks!

I'm just triying to figure what a .fbx exactly is. I want to create 3d models and be able to edit and manipulate them as I want, of course.

FYI: FBX and OBJ import is not a feature in AutoCAD for Mac.

I added the FBX overview site. FBX is a data exchange technology is a 3D asset exchange format that facilitates higher-fidelity data exchange between 3ds Max, Maya, MotionBuilder, Mudbox and other propriety and third-party software.

I would run a trial for Maya as well if you want to work with FBX/OBJ files specifically. Like Maxim pointed out  "FBX and OBJ import is not a feature in AutoCAD for Mac."
