On my Mac 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5 dual-core with macOS Sonoma (updated), I had installed "AutoCAD 2024 for Mac (Italian)" with my student license (University of Pisa, Italy) valid until February 13, 2025. On Tuesday (March 18, 2024), I encountered multiple errors related to my license: License checkout timed out. My license is active and valid! I decided to uninstall the program following the instructions I found at: https://www.autodesk.it/support/download-install/individuals/manage/uninstall-autodesk-software#:~:t... .
Then I tried to reinstall. I downloaded "AutoCAD 2024 for Mac (Italian)" again from the www.autodesk.com website, and when I try to run the Installer, it shows the error "Autodesk Installer Error Report - A software problem has caused Autodesk Installer to close unexpectedly."
How can I install AutoCAD 2024 for Mac (Italian version)?
Hi @19francesca962XQUA ,
It is better to ask your question here:
Education Installation, Licensing & Administration Forum
Try to follow another article about clean uninstall Autodesk products on Mac:
There are some folders you need to remove that are not mentioned in the article you linked to.
After you remove al folders mentioned in the article I referred to, restart your Mac and try to start installation again.
Don't forget to install the latest Hotfix!
Thank you for the response. I also followed the instructions in the article you sent me and deleted all the folders and files. I restarted, but I still get the "Autodesk Installer Error Report." Should I install the Hotfix before or after installing the AutoCAD program?
You cannot install Hotfix before installation.
You can try:
- create new admin account on your Mac - macOS System Settings - Users & Groups - Add account
- login to this newly created account
- try to install AutoCAD
BTW - what Mac model do you have?
Ok, I'll try creating a new account as you suggested. I have a Mac 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5 dual-core with macOS Sonoma (updated). The AutoCAD 2024 for Mac version has always worked since August 2023 on my Mac. It only gave me problems last week with the license, which is why I thought of uninstalling and reinstalling the program.
@19francesca962XQUA , it seems the installation temp file is corrupted and so installation is always crashed.
Please try steps below:
1. Open Terminal Window and run the following to remove the temp file.
rm -r $TMPDIR/odis_download_dest
2. Disconnect Internet to stop the installer update itself from online. And then run the AutoCAD installer again.
You can try @wei503 suggestion.
But I also asked about your Mac model and
>>>>I have a Mac 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5 dual-core
does not indicate a specific Mac model in any way.
You can find your Mac model on the "About This Mac" window - Menu Apple -> About This Mac
Sorry, the necessary information for the programs is about the Mac's processor. I didn't understand what you were asking me, I have a MacBook Air. I'll leave you a screenshot of the window - "About This Mac" window - Menu Apple -> About This Mac
Okay, I just wanted to make sure your Mac is fully compatible with macOS Sonoma.
It's not working. I entered the command into the Terminal (screenshot), turned off the internet on the Mac, and then attempted to install. I don't understand what the problem is. Do you know a support email to contact Autodesk?
