I am using Autocad 2012 for the Mac. I wand to covert my drawing from a dwg or dxf to a U3D format so I can import it into a pdf file as a 3D model. I thought your would be able to use the "export" function to output a U3D file? No such thing? Is there a plug-in or a software app than can do this? Would be grateful for an answer to my dilema!
Hi Steve,
I try to look on the web to find free software that could help you in your request but I was unsuccessful.
Anyway there is paid software’s that could help you.
http://www.righthemisphere.com/products/deeppub/DeepPub_View/dpub.html
And you can try also the acrobat 3d functions, maybe ask to acrobat if they are developing something more accurate to your demands.
Hope this helps,
Best Regards
Tetra4D are the folks who picked up 3D PDF development after it was spun off from the Adobe mothership. They haven't put out anything to convert AutoCAD DWG to 3D PDF although they do support a number of other AutoDesk products. There have been a number of posts from a company rep on the boards - they should show up in a search.
