Disabled Layers in Referenced DWG's appearing when Plotting

Hi guys,

I am having an issue when plotting DWG's in Autocad LT 2015 for Mac.

I am using a custom arrowhead for leaders and notes, which, when used in a drawing, and then that drawing is referenced into another, the arrow head block will print, even though the layer is turned off. All other items on that layer (ie. arrow tail, text, etc.) will not print, as is expected.

The only way to prevent the arrowhead from printing is to toggle the Plot setting to off in the Layer Palette for that layer. This is all well and good, but arrows are not always on the same layer, and is an inconvenience when toggling a number of layers.

It is also an issue when sending DWG's out to consultants, who will also reference the drawing, and have the same issue when they turn the layer off. Trying to avoid having to instruct consultants to disable the Plot setting for the layer, rather than just toggling the visability.

I assume that it is an issue with the way that the arrowhead has been drawn before being used as a block for the arrow head. I have attached a screenshot of a drawing that has a reference DWG, which shows the arrowhead still appearing, despite the layer itself is turned off. Note that the rest of the arrow (the tail), and the note will not plot, only the arrow head itself.

I have also attached the arrow head block, in hope that the issue may be underlying in the block.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,
You need to FREEZE layers with leaders, but not to turn them OFF.
Than custom arrow heads will not be visible when you print.
