Disable Start Tab AutoCAD 2025 for Mac

Hello, 

I'm trying to disable the start tab from the file tabs bar in AutoCAD 2025 for Mac and having no success.

The command STARTMODE doesn't work as it's listed as a read only and is non-editable, it seems.

I have read online you can edit the 'registry key' but this only seems applicable to the windows version, is there a way to do this on the Mac?

Looks like it is not possible to disable Start tab in AutoCAD for Mac, because STARTMODE sys var is read-only.

You can only bypass Start tab when launching AutoCAD by setting System Variable STARTUP=0. Then you will get a new empty drawing created with the default template.

Start tab will be still there, but not active.

Where exactly did you see this tip specifically for AutoCAD for MAC please?

Or just stop this from being your program start page?

Yes, the start tab itself, not the features shown within the start tab and not the whole file tab toolbar.

Thanks for looking into this.

It seems a shame as i like to flick through my open files with the keyboard shortcut, and an unnecessary tab can be a bit of an annoyance. Guess i'll have to get used to it.

Do you know if there is a way to request this be included in a patch?

I just updated to LT 2025 for Mac, and would like to disable the Start tab.

As noted here STARTMODE appears to be disabled.  Disabling the Start pages has been possible for the previous versions, so it would be super frustrating to be stuck with this tab taking up space from here on.

Wanted to check in here to see if anyone else has found an updated workaround for this issue since the original post here?
