Dimensions will not show unless objects are selected

Hi,

I have been having a problem with AutoCAD 2016 on my MacBook.

The dimension lines will not show unless I select the objects that they are defining.

I have inserted some screenshot below, any help is greatly appreciated!

Post your DWG file, let's look at the source for ourselves.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

It appears you are using wrong tool to put dimensions.

Instead of using these buttons in Annotation tab of Tool Sets palette (DIM, DIMLINEAR and other commands):

You are using these buttons on Drafting tab of Tool Sets palette (parametric dimensions):

You are using parametric dimensions instead of regular dimensions.
