Hello all:

 

I am new to the AutoCAD community as well as to the software itself - I am teaching myself AutoCAD. Hence please forgive me if the following query is very basic:

 

Please find attached an image. As you may see, this structure has been formed by drawing a double layered "z" and extruding it. This the vertical structure - and I wish to make it horizontal (for simplicity sakes, make it lie down). I have tried using the rotate command, but instead it keeps rotating around it's axis. Kindly help me out. Thank you in advance!

You need to use 3DROTATE command:
