Custom Shortcuts for Mouse Buttons

Anonymous

I have a few shortcuts set on my mouse such as delete, esc and undo set via keystokes.

What I would like to add is 'Copy' with a one touch button.

Does anyone know how this would be possible? I worked out how to change a copy shortcut from CO to just C so I could allocate a keystroke, but the problem is I then need 'Enter'

I would like to do this without touching the keyboard if possible.

I use a Logitech Performance MX which I setup from the Control Centre.

Thanks

I think it is possible if you can assign to the mouse button one of the keyboard shortcuts defined in "Shortcuts" tab of "Keyboard" System preferences pane.

But you need to prepare menu in AutoCAD.

As you probably know, you can assign keyboard shortcuts in Mac OS System preferences to any application installed on your Mac:

https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18418?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

So you can assign shortcut to Copy many item. But there are two "Copy" menu items in AutoCAD for Mac - under Edit and under Modify menu. So if you want to assign shortcut to Copy command from Modify menu to call COPY command you need to modify the name of this many item in order Mac OS can properly assign system shortcut to it. And will not confuse between two Copy menu items

So in AutoCAD you need to rename Copy menu item from Modify menu - use CUI command for this, switch to Menus tab, find Copy command in Modify menu and change the "Display name" to something other:

Than in Mac OS System preferences assign shortcut to exactly the same menu name:

Than assign this shortcut in your Logitech software to the mouse button you need.

(In my case I used AutoCAD LT 2015, but the same should work to any other AutoCAD version)
