Create Contact Libraries / Tool Palettes

Hello,

On a Windows AutoCAD version, there is a possibility to use Tool Palettes. In the screenshot I took of the Windows version the tool pallete is visible on the right side. In this Tool Palette we use standard products. So I can quickly click an product and all the sizes and articlenumbers are at one place.

Now I turned over to a MAC and I want the same Tool Palette. I searched the internet and find out that it is called Content Library. But I cannot find it anywhere.

I have several DWG files with the products I want to have in AutoCAD. How can I import them to get the same functionality as on the Windows version?

Hope that you can help me out because it would be easier for my assignments!

Kind regards,

TPs are not an option in the MAC version. If you want them, you switch to WindowsOS on your MAC like this https://www.pcmag.com/news/how-to-run-windows-on-a-mac

Hi,

There is no 'Tool Palette' in AutoCAD for Mac.

If you want to insert block quickly. You can use Content Palette(before AutoCAD for Mac 2020)/Blocks palette(start from AutoCAD for Mac 2020). This palette can be easily accessed by CMD+2.

Thanks,

Thank you very much.

I found the library button in the Block Palette.

I made one library now which is complete on the way I want it.

Now I'm searching if it is possible to make more then one library, because I want to work with several product groups.

Thank you very much for now! I have to get used to the Apple way of thinking.

Hi,

You can add more Libraries in "Manage Library" window:

After you add new Library with + button, you can rename it (if you need) and populate with blocks with + button on the right side of this window:

Got that function indeed, thank you!

But I'm searching for a function to group them. For example:

Make a group with several libraries. 1 group with all vegatables.

Another group with all libraries with all meat.

Another group with all labraries with all drinks.

Just a simple example, I use other products ofcourse.

But so I can select a group and than the correct library.

Because now I have over 50 libraries which are all sorted on alphabetic order.

It would be nice if I could cluster them like the Tool Palette in Windows AutoCAD

Unfortunately it is impossible to group libraries in AC for Mac.
The only way to "group" libraries is to sort them in dropdown list by adding "group" prefix.
Then you will be able to browse the list easily.
