I have a very new 2011 iMac with the max available memory, HDD and processor speed, yet I can't get AutoCAD to load.  I am a student and downloaded the student version.  What could be wrong ?

Thanks for input. I changed my language settings to English (British) which, as an Australian I find a bit offensive :), and I believe that all the other issues should be OK.  I could not find a file called "FLEXnet Publisher" on my iMac (will look again), despite using Adobe Acrobat Pro.

The symptom is that I get the initial AUTOCad boot screen, then it quits without any error message.

This is very annoying because I'm a long-time user of this software and want to stop the need to go to my Windows partition every time I need to use CAD.  The more I can avoid Windows the happier I will be !

What you see in Console app during AutoCAD startup? (Applications->Utilities->Console.app)

Have you tried also to create new account on your Mac and try to start AutoCAD in it?

I looked at Console and tried to load CAD and only got this :

(it didn't load)

But looking at previous I have this (hundreds of lines of this):

10/06/11 8:54:19 AM[0x0-0x28028].com.autodesk.Remove_AutoCAD[398]Waiting for Process Remove AutoCAD with PID 398 to finish ...

(I did remove and reinstall without success).

Thanks, but also logging on as anew account had the same problem and the same Console entry.

Have you found FLEXnet Publisher folder?

Be attentive - it is not located in your home folder, but in Library folder, that resides in root of HD:

"/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher"

It worked !

Except now the system tells me that I can't live in Australia, or my alternative address in the UK, as the product cannot be activated if I have either address !

What's happening...why does it all have to be so hard !

But could you enplane what do you do exactly - some additional changes in Language and Text pane of System preferences?

I did what you suggested with the folder in Library (FLEXnet Publisher), I actually moved the whole folder out to the desktop, removed AutoCAD, reinstalled it, executed then copied the file associated with Adobe Acrobat back into the sub-folder.

But activating the software is now the problem.
