Cannot turn off automatic creation of constraints

Anonymous

Running Acad for Mac 2011-cannot upgrade because of older OS. Constraints seem to be created constantly though I keep deleting them. I don't want to use constraints but system won't let me turn off all geometric constraints; requires at least one. I have tried delconstraint, managing constraints from the pulldowns (doesn't seem to be a variable to turn autoconstraint off altogether). I delete all constraints and they appear again immediately. Others described problem but the solution that worked for them doesn't work for me. Is this a bug? How do I turn off creation of new restraints after I have deleted them all?

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

You need to turn off Infer Constraints mode on the Status Bar:

Thank you for responding-it is off, I have only what I need on the status
bar open. Is there some other system variable or another place to turn it
off? Thanks!

Hi @ Jgrayhines,

Is the CONSTRAINTINFER system variable is set to 1 or 0?
