broken lines and monochrome

My drawings don't plot properly. My broken lines when plotted come out straight like a basic line. And whenever I plot my work monochrome, some layers plot coloured.

Please help me.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Rahama,

Do you use Plot Style table file in your page setup?
If yes - double check settings in Plot Style table file (CTB or STB)
Can you share your drawing along with Plot Style table (if any) here on the Forum?

Yes, I use Plot style table file. Some colors change to black and white and others don’t. Also the broken lines I have are straight lines when plotted.

Without having at hand your Plot Style table file (and drawing) it is hard to diagnose the problem.

The cases could be:
- Plot Style table have incorrect settings
- Plot Style table is corrupted for some reason
- AutoCAD cannot find Plot Style table during plot (for example if CTB/STB file is on the Network drive)

Yes.
- Plot Style table have incorrect settings - try to revise Plot Style table file

- Plot Style table is corrupted for some reason - try to recreate Plot Style table from scratch

- AutoCAD cannot find Plot Style table during plot (for example if CTB/STB file is on the Network drive) - put Plot Style table file to the default location for Plot Style table files.

But instead of reading on tea leaves, will be better to look at your drawing an Plot Style table. Can you attach them here?

When I asked you to share Drawing and Plot Style table files, I mean DWG and STB files itself, but not screenshots of them.
Screenshots cannot help.

You can use menu File -> Package Drawing to create archive of your drawing with CTB file, then attach the archive here.

CTB file is OK, it appears you are using default monochrome.ctb plot style table file, so it doesn't affect linetypes in output, it just makes all index colors in the drawing black.

You have color output from your drawing, because some objects are on the Layers with color assigned from Color Books, but not from Index color tab (colors from 1 to 255) of Color window. Colors from Color Book or from Tru Color tab always prints in color, even with monochrome.ctb.

In order to get dashed lines in output you need to uncheck this option in the Linetype window (menu Format -> Linetype) while you are in the Layout you want to print:

Then use REGENALL command.

Edit Color property of the Layer you need to change color and assign color from the first tab in the "Select color" dialog - Index color.
