Black shape printing in Paper Space that is not visible in drawing

Hello,

I have a black shape printing at the bottom right of my file when in Paper Space (see attached). I have turned all the layers on in my drawing and tried "select all" and can't see any objects that would make that shape.

Any suggestions welcome as to finding and removing it!

Thanks

Hi,

Without your drawing it is practically impossible to guess.

Attached is a screenshot of the file when I work on it. I figured out it's the "N" from my north symbol. On the screen it looks fine, but when it prints at PDF, the "N" letter prints at full-scale so the left side of the "N" is what the black shape is. This started happening on all my files after I updated to the latest OS. Thanks for you help

Yes, I see.

Looks like it is a bug in AutoCAD:
when you have MTEXT inside block (or external reference), you insert this block with scale factor other than 1 and system variable USEQUARTZFONT=1 (the default value), than this MTEXT object start to behave in a strange way (scaling issues) when you print or save to PDF.

The solution is to redefine block (or external referenced file) in order to insert it at 1:1 scale.
