.bak file in autocad mac 2011

please can someone help me. I recently downloaded the trial for autocad mac 2011. I  have to issues.

1. I cant zoom extents with my mouse or find a commnd for it.

2. I cant turn off the dwg backup creator.  i really dont want autocad to create a backup everytime i open a drawing.
