Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Amrinder,

Please provide your macbook air hardware specifications more accurately: you can find out this information using menu "Apple" -> "About this Mac".

If your Mac hardware meets system requirements for AutoCAD 2018 for Mac - see here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-for-mac/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/...

Then you can try this solution:

Hi @Anonymous,

I am checking to see if @maxim_k's great suggestions remedied the slow performance of AutoCAD on your Mac. If so, please reward him with Kudos and mark his post as a solution. If it did not help, please let me know what steps you have tried thus far.

Please also tell me what OS is installed and which version of AutoCAD you are using.

Good day John Vellek

I am so sorry for now replying back . I was out of town . I am using high sierra with Macbook Air i7 , 8 GB ram and Autocad 2018 . i tried what you said Sir . but it didn't work . its really slow . Sometimes it takes near about 4 to 5 mins to start Autocad . is there anything else i could try or simple uninstall and try re-installing .

Thanks and Regards

Hi @Anonymous,

When you did this install did you also migrate any of your previous settings?

Does the program launch faster if you  create a new user account and log on with it?

An uninstall and reinstall is typically pretty quick to do and it wouldn't hurt to do that to see if it helps.

If you disable your network connection temporarily does that speed up the launch process?

Hi @Anonymous,

I would wager that the hardware specifications between the MacBook Air and your Windows computer are rather different. In fact, I would suggest that a MacBook Pro would be more suited to running AutoCAD than the MacBook Air.
