AutoCad LT 2017 Compatibility with Apple Mac Pro 3.1 (early 2008)

I got an old early 2008 Apple Mac Pro and I'm thinking of upgrading it's RAM and OS. But I'm not sure whether AutoCAD LT 2017 can run on this machine as it seems that it requires minimum Apple Mac Pro 4.1 which is the 2009 model based on the system requirements sheet.

Just want to know If I upgrad my Mac Pro to the specs below, can I install AutoCAD LT 2017 on it?

1. One 2.8 GHz (E5462) Quad-core processor (Original)

2. 6GB 800 MHz DDR2 ECC FBDIMM RAM (Upgrade from 2GB)

3. NVidia GeForce 8800 GT with 512 MB GDDR3 SDRAM (Original)

4. OS 10.11.6 El Capitan (Original Leopard)

Thanks

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Basil,

I'm afraid AutoCAD installer will not allow you to install AutoCAD on your hardware. There is preinstallation script in the installer which checks the hardware.

Dear Maxim,

Thanks for your previous reply. If I upgrade my mac pro and then I run Autocad 2017 on bootcamp in windows, will that work?

Thanks and regards

Basil

Hi Basil,

You should not have troubles with Bootcamp if you will install Windows version on it which is compatible with AutoCAD 2017 for Windows :

- Microsoft® Windows® 10 (desktop OS),
or Microsoft Windows 8.1 with Update KB2919355,
or Microsoft Windows 7 SP1
