AutoCAD for Mac 2022 - Viewport and missing menu

Hello!

1. Was wondering if there is a way for the viewports to match exactly the size of the paper layout. I realize that the viewport doesn't snap to edge of paper and its not perfect.

2. How can I restore the top menu that contains "home", "insert", "add-ins", etc?

I am using AutoCAD 2022 on a Mac.

Thank you!

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi @raulbric ,

Try to use borderless paper in Page Setup. For AutoCAD PDF printers you can select "ISO full bleed ..." or "ARCH full bleed ..." paper sizes:

If you talk about Ribbon, then this UI element is not available in AutoCAD for Mac.

YOu want a fullbleed page size

And you will need to correctly size the viewport size when you use MVIEW command to creat it (and sometimes even go inside the viewport to reposition/zoom the content in it).

Hello, I am using a fullbleed paper. My problem is that I don't know how to size the viewport to an exact size that will fit the paper layout.

Try this on the layout:

Create a pspace vport using the MVIEW command that's the exact size of the 841x594 full bleed sheet ie: start point: 0,0 and upper right corner: 841,594

Now in the Page Setup under "What to Print:" select from the dropdown list "Window"

Choose on the graphic screen the same corners of the pspace vport you just created

Now click OK and your pspace vport will now be positioned exactly as your full bleed sheet

Hi @raulbric ,

Just want to clarify that @paullimapa advice about the viewport size refers to the A1 format.

If you need another paper size - create viewport according to paper dimensions.

If you use full bleed paper size and create viewport with the same size, you can select "Layout" under "What to print".

Got it, so you don't understand fully how to create and use viewports, yes? There are many tutorials online and in HELP on how to use MVIEW command's default settings to click two points to create a new rectangular viewport of your modelspace content (and as long as the two pints you click are the size of your paperspace, you're done).

OR... do you mean you've never selected a viewport, selected one of the grips, then stretched it bigger or smaller to fit your paper size, then double-clicked inside it to ZOOM and/or PAN to fit your modelspace content in that viewport?

OR... do you mean your viewport is locked and you cannot do any of the above https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACDMAC/2023/ENU/?guid=GUID-775647A9-6289-47B2-84A1-3DD463696FD7

OR... something else I did not think or list above? Please elaborate.
