AutoCAD 2025 will not open .dgn files (greyed out)

I am attempting to open .dgn files using AutoCAD 2025 for Mac. However, when I try to open up the .dgn files, they are "greyed out" so I can't click the file to open. Does AutoCAD 2025 for Mac open .dgn files?

What is 'greyed out" please? I'm not sure I follow.

Thank you for the quick reply. "Greyed out" meaning I can see the file but can't click on it. 

I just checked the link you sent and it seems to state that .dgn files cannot be opened by AutoCAD for Mac.

Do I need to convert it to another format?

Yes, you need to convert them to DWG, DXF or to PDF.

AutoCAD for Mac can open DWG, DXF and import PDF files with vector data.

Ultimately, all I need to do is view the .dng files. Is there a workaround for that?

Autodesk's free online viewer is an option

https://viewer.autodesk.com/ 

There are other viewers (and converters) available too, try an online search to find them if needed.

I hope this helps. Previously, we had trouble with one of our DGN files and encountered an error when trying to open it. Luckily, we found a tool called FileFixer, which helped us recover and open the file. If this doesn't work, we also found this tool called Translation Manager which effortlessly handled the conversion from our DGN to DWG process without any hiccups

I have the same problem but I found AutoCAD 2024 opens the file but the newer version AutoCAD 2025 doesn't.  I think Autodesk have made the newer version support the less older versions of other CAD software.

None of the versions of AutoCAD for Mac, including 2024, can import (open) DGN files.
